What is melanin?

According to Healthline Melanin is a “skin pigment. It occurs in both humans and animals, and is what makes hair, skin, and eyes appear darker.  Research has found that melanin may help protect the skin from UV rays. Increasing melanin may also help block processes in the body that lead to skin cancer.”

Who Has melanin?

According to Wikipedia “The melanin in the skin is produced by melanocytes, which are found in the basal layer of the epidermis. Although, in general, human beings possess a similar concentration of melanocytes in their skin, the melanocytes in some individuals and ethnic groups produce variable amounts of melanin.”

With this information presented, this means we all are technically melanated. It is not exclusive to darker shade or certain ethnic groups. It’s time we put the ignorance behind us. Of course I will dive into the more spiritual aspect in a part 2.

Pure science

There are two types of melanin produced. Pheomelanin, which is red to yellow in color. Eumelanin, which is dark brown to black. Now why we are worried about who is who and what is what, humans are melanated (even animals) . There has been an propaganda pushed to distract us with race and ethnicity. I just took an multicultural class in college and one of the main things that stood out is equal, but different. If this was instilled in a lot of people at a young age, the world would be partly different.

In concluding, of course this is a touchy thing and so much has happened over time to shape the world the way it is today. Right is right and wrong is wrong. Now it is time to put the ignorance behind us and do what we can today, in the present, to make a better tomorrow. Sounds cheesy, but this is true. The ways things are now with these mindsets and views of people on a board scale is not ok. Everyone needs or should want to change for the better to live in harmony and experience life more balanced. These are just my opinions.

Thank you for reading 😁❤️. These are my thoughts and opinions on the matter. Tell me what you think down below. Are we all melanated or is this misinformation? Please like, share, and subscribe. Stay light and balance.
